With Mailfriends, the definition of international friend has been changed. You can now find friends from North Pole to South Pole. You can also get in touch with several like-minded people.
I have a keen interest in Tibetan life and culture. I read and searched on the Internet a lot about them. However I had the feeling that it was not what I wanted. I felt the need to talk to a person who is a part of that culture. I met Chang on Mailfriends. Though now a resident of China, he has his ancestral home over there. In fact one of his ancestors was a lama in a monastery.
What more could I ask for? He gave me each and every detail about Tibetan culture, their religion, Buddhism and monastery. We continued chatting for months and he got really irritated with my endless queries that got on his nerves sometimes. Months passed by. One day he invited me to his ancestral place. We went on a month long tour to Tibet and he was my guide. I spent time in the monasteries, with the religious teachers and it was an experience of a lifetime.
