My cousin Leena is in her high school and has various kinds of fantasies about the concept of friendship. She is always glued to the internet. Sometimes it really irritates me as I wonder why she is so glued to her computer screen throughout the day.

Leena often shares with me some great and unique experiences that she has shared with her penpals. She states that for people like her who are not that extrovert, online friendship has given her a new lease of life. Sam, Pari, Monica and Catharine are some of her good penfriends. At times when she is depressed or extremely excited about her success she shares it with them .They have been a part of her life in times of joy as well as in sadness. Friends For A Lifetime

My friend Nita was away since many years. Her husband is doctor by profession and often remained busy with his patients. He had a very tight schedule and could not manage time for his wife. During those days Nita felt very lonely and was terribly in need of a friend.

While searching the internet, for some information she suddenly came across an online advertisement of a friendship site. She was not very open to the idea at the beginning, but later registered herself in the site. She met many people online, but with a few of them she came close. Initially she did not know much about the person, but with a few long chats she came to know much about him. He was an eighteen year old law student. Nita came to know that he was suffering diabetes and needed regular treatment.

With the help of her husband, she suggested him the names of top medical practioners. He underwent prolonged treatment and within a few months was cured. In fact, this friend believes that it all because of Nita that he has become healthy.

Creativity Online - A New Definition Of Art

Roma is one of my artistically talented penfriends. She is someone with whom I share all my creative thoughts. From sculptures to paintings we discuss everything about fine arts.

One day while chatting I sent her a painting of an ancient Indian mythological painting. I was not aware that she was into jewelry designing as well. It was kind of a surprise for me when I came to know that she had used a particular design for her latest collection for New Year. One thing I knew she wanted to be a familiar face through her works of art. The biggest surprise for me was her collection being selected for a particular fashion week. This was a huge break through in her career as her designs were a mixture of western fusion jewelry and Indian traditionalism.

Theme For Party? Online Help Is At Hand

My mother has been a regular at many kitty parties. She has often arranged for such parties for her friends. In short, I feel she is quite an expert in this field. Sometime back one of my online friends (a Chinese by nationality) was really worried as she and her mother had to arrange a party.

So the other day while talking to my mother I narrated my friend's problem. After hearing it, she over-enthusiastically gave me certain light Indian recipes that could be offered to the guests. Later on I sent her the recipes listed by my mother. I could not believe that it would become a hit among her guests. She was so elated that she sent me an e-card giving thanks to my mother.

Pleasant Surprise

I have been living in London for the last three months. Often feeling left out and lonely has become a constant factor in my life. Since I am new to the city I know very few people out here. My online friends are my only pals with whom I share my feelings. Sometimes I feel if Mailfriends was not there to help me find friends I would have gone mad.

But one of the sweetest surprises of my life is the presence of my online friends at my place in London last month. The four of us have developed a strong bond of friendship by just chatting online. They have arranged a surprise weekend outing for celebrating my promotion at my job. It was such a heart felt moment that I could not control my tears. No wonder, friends like them are nothing less than prized possessions.

History Meets Friendship

Distance is no barrier to find friends. I have an online friend from Greece. She is one of the most helpful people I have ever met. I am a student of ancient history and doing dissertation paper on Greek history.

Finding information for this topic was very difficult initially. I visited libraries to collect relevant information on the matter. But whatever I got was not enough to make a project of one hundred pages. Finally, I thought of this particular friend of mine and sent her an e-mail for help. She responded is a very positive manner. She gave me her history teacher’s e-mail id and recommended me to ask him for all the relevant information I have been looking for. It was because of her that I got some rare pictures and documents for my dissertation.

Well Jack had fallen in love with one of my friends. She is a person from my friends list. I and Jack knew each other for quite sometime but I was totally unaware of his feelings.

One night, while chatting with him he suddenly asked me whether I was engaged with someone or not. I was surprised at this, since I had never felt like he was interested in me. Then I started playing with him. After chatting with him for an hour or so, he said that he has fallen for a girl and today he realized that she was one of my online friends. You never know, when you can meet your soul mate. This is exactly what happened with one of my close buddies. While chatting online she came across a guy who later became her life partner.

My friend found his profile in one of the forums of her choice. She initially chatted with him as she does with any other penfriends. It was only after months of interaction they decided to finally meet each other. Their first meeting was a beginning to their long lasting relationship. Feeling Low? Chat With Your Online Friend

Sometimes I feel like going into self-isolation specially when I feel extremely low. A feeling of uncomfort and guilt starts to permeate into my thoughts. Most of the times, I only communicate when I am bubbling with enthusiasm and joy. Yet, I go into recluse and like to hide under the covers, when murkiness overshadows me.

At that point of time you need to open up to someone. I felt the same a few days back and required to force myself out in front of someone. As I was feeling low and disburdened, just to divert my attention I logged into the forum and sat aimlessly. Suddenly my chat list blinked. I suddenly saw a name that I could not recognized as it was no one from the regular online friends I have. After talking to the person for about ten minutes I realized that it was my childhood friend Suman. We both were in the same class in our school days. I felt so pleasant at that point of time that I opened my heart out to her. She patiently heard my problem and helped me come out of the depression I had gone into. This will always be a memorable incident in my life. Hats off, to the person who coined the phrase “a friend in need is a friend indeed.”

Like Minded Friends

We often hear that friend is someone with whom you can share thoughts and idea. I realized this when I initially started chatting. Out of all my online friends I found that it was very easy to communicate with Sonia. The first day when I chatted with her we connected extremely well with each other. It felt like I was talking to myself.

For instance, if we are discussing about any of the latest Hollywood blockbusters- somehow she is fascinated by those elements of the movie which has caught my attention. Her hobby as well as some of her likes and dislikes too has a strange resemblance to my thought process. No doubt, today I have a friend to whom I can confine all my feelings. In fact, I can rely on her completely to give me some reasonable ideas. We talk about lots of things like going alone and taking the plunge in our respective professional life. We share all our excitement, fear, benefits and also the pitfalls in life.
