Few months back I attended a wedding ceremony of an old friend who now stays in London. The guy came to India to marry. The night before his arrival date, two of his other friends from London arrived and I received them from the airport. Since they were foreigners, I felt a little hesitation in interacting with them in the beginning. But gradually we became such good friends that I felt as if we had long been acquainted with each other. Among them Chelsea is of my age and Marilyn, a year younger. Apart from the wedding ceremony we had a lot of fun. We visited several sites as they came first time in India and were really curious to know the country.
But as the golden days glided away, the departing day gradually arrived and they had to pack their bags. It was a sad moment seeing them embarking on the airplane. But thanks to Mailfriends, I had their contacts and chatting IDs. These provided me the means to stay in touch with them. Now it has been so many days after they have left, but we are still in touch through Mailfriends’ online chat and have gradually learnt a lot more about each other than the time when we had first met.

Finding The Right One
Hi Friends!! This blog is about a life changing incident that occurred to me sometime back. It is one of the best things that have ever happened to me and I would love to share it with all of you out there. I am a very romantic person and from my childhood I have always fantasized of finding the love of my life from another part of the world. I have always found much thrill and romance in exploring foreign customs and cultures and have dreamt of a gradually developing relationship with an unseen face. Hoping of reciprocation, I sent my message- “anybody out there who is interested in a man looking for a life partner (caste, race and color no bar)?” in the Mailfriends website. I started getting innumerable responses from girls from different parts of the world who, perhaps, shared a similar outlook.
During the past few months I have been busy delving into terra incognita of females who were also like me. But only in the last month the right one came in my life and I found her to be exactly the girl I was looking for. She comes from Thailand and has a nature similar to what I was looking for. As I am from Australia, we faced some initial hesitation in interacting with each other but thanks to Mailfriends, communication gradually became an easy matter for both of us. Now it is crystal clear to both of us that the day is not very far when we will tie the knot.

Three’s a Crowd
Having hot discussions while chatting with friends is nothing new to us, as we would often exchange our views with each other. Craig and I used to chat with each other very often and we would discuss on every topic that’s possible. The latest in our list of topics was the release of the movie in the Harry Potter series.
While both of us often agreed on the different topics but there were exceptions. While Craig believed that the magical sequences of the movie were aggravated, I felt that the movie has been shot so as to appeal to the viewers fancy. With this topic we had longer talks as usual. Since we could not come back to a possible solution we asked Tom, one of our common mailfriends, to intervene. But Tom came up with a different view altogether. Neither did he go for the supernatural nor did he go for the materialistic. He said that since it was made for children so it had magic in it, but those who feel that magic is not meant for them, might not view the movie. So Craig and I were already sitting poles apart and Tom by adding a different view has led the argument further.

Never Break Promises
Nonie and I first met on the web a few years back. I was doing my majors while he had just completed his masters. Both of us had many papers in common and so we decided to share them. Accordingly we decided to talk on the subject and he would send me the required materials often. He promised that after my exams were over, we would meet each other.
Soon we became very good friends but the strange part of the thing was that both of us never met. My exams were nearby and I was busy studying. Gradually I lost touch with my Mailfriends and especially with Nonie. Soon my exams were over and having fared well I decided to thank him with a treat. I invited him to a nearby café. Accordingly I went and kept waiting for four long hours. But he never came. Quite heartbroken I came back and searched for Nonie all over the Mails, but no response. One of our common friends Sara later informed that Nonie flew back to his country to carry on with his research work. Had Nonie kept his promise I would not have lost such a valuable friend.

Reaching Out to People in Trauma
Roger has undergone an extreme mental trauma after his mother passed away. He had lost all confidence and was facing problems concentrating on anykind of work. During that phase of his life it was his chat friends that assisted him to fight back and make a new beginning. His heart rendering experiences touched everyone. I remember once while chatting he told me what a pillar of support she was for him and the family. And what a huge loss it was for him. No wonder he always thanks his online friends for bringing him back to normal life.
